Know Before You Go

Afternoon Activities

Each afternoon we will have free time at the camp and there will be several options for each group and individuals. Swimmimg, canoeing, hiking, basketball, sand volleyball, tennis, ping pong, cornhole are all included in your cost. Laser Tag will be an additional $15 each to play and there is also a High Ropes course that is optional for $20 each. There will be sign-up sheets on Monday night at camp to determine who will be participating in each paid activity.

Small Groups

Following each morning session, our speaker will have us break off into smaller groups for discussion. Groups will not be pre-determined by Friends Camp staff but by individual youth pastors/leaders of their own groups. If students are placed in mixed groups for games or other purposes, they will be determined at the time of said activity.

Dress Code

All clothing should be appropriate and modest. If a student is not meeting Friends Camp’s dress code, we will make your leaders aware so they can address this issue and ask you to change. We expect all students to wear appropriate and modest clothing at camp. All cutoffs and tank tops can be worn in the swim area or in the dorms only. Also, we suggest that students do not bring large amounts of cash or anything of significant value (i.e. jewelry).

Adult Leaders

As an adult leader, you are encouraged to attend with your teens.  We are HIGHLY encouraging each church to send AT LEAST one adult to be with your group for the duration of the camp. If  you have a small group and do not have an adult, then we encourage you to connect with a larger group to ask the leader to be responsible for your teens.

Discipline

As with all youth events, issues may develop with students and between students. We ask that the adult leaders attending Friends Camp with their students be active participants in making sure that students are getting the best camp experience possible. At times, this may mean that we need to enforce consequences for inappropriate behavior or actions.

T-Shirts

T-shirts are on a first come first serve basis.  Anyone who registers after July 1st will not be guaranteed a T-shirt, so register early!
